Mary Sharpe Moore was a Vice-President of the Art Association of Indianapolis from its founding in 1883 to 1888.

Laurel Fletcher Hodges held many roles in the early days of the Art Association of Indianapolis. She was a Vice-President who served almost every term from 1883-1909, with two stints as a secretary from 1893-1902. She remained on the Board of Directors until her death in 1923. In or around 1919 she published a memoir titled Her Early Indianapolis.
