        History

Elenor Cheney was born in Columbus, Ohio, but resided in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the majority of her life. She was best known for her black and white acrylic paintings. To create her unique and intricate patterns she used a technique that recreated patterns formed in metals when stressed. Her "Reflective Gold Series" introduced gold leaf into her typically monochromatic schemes. Cheney's art work has been featured in galleries, museums, universities, and contests primarily in Indiana, but also throughout the Midwest. Elenor Cheney was active as an artist through the 1980s and passed away in 1994.
